Mystery Road Trip – Day Six

DAY SIX – Monday 23rd April 2018

Liard Hot Springs BC to Watson Lake YT

I woke up early and went for a stroll back down the boardwalk as I realised I hadn’t taken any photos of the hotsprings, and they are definitely pic worthy! I was half hoping I would, and half hoping I wouldn’t run into any grizzly bears and/or moose on my early morning walk… alas, still no moose!

I think we spent a bit too long in the springs yesterday and got a bit dehydrated, as we both had headaches and feeling pretty lousy all day. Note to self, bring water bottle to hot springs!!

Went back to sleep for a few hours and eventually made the big move from the back of the van to the driver’s seat for our first adventure into the Yukon Territory!

Lots of Bison on the side of the road for most of the drive! A bit rainy today also! We found the Sign Post Forest, fun fact – the original one that started the trend, and after trudging through knee deep snow we eventually found Jenn’s Kicking Horse Sign that she posted there in 2013! The information centre was still closed though, so unfortunately we couldn’t make a sign of our own 😦

The Northern Lights Science and Space Centre was also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Dammit Jenn! It was actually a good excuse to have a chill night and do nothing. We treated ourselves to a hotel room at Andrea’s Hotel, would recommend staying here, showers were amazing, good water pressure and heat! Bed was comfy and room was clean.

Feeling more alive after a hot shower and a quick stretch, time to chill and play words with friends :p
